Lumberjack Football Ranked 16th and 17th in Preseason Magazine Polls

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – With the 2013 football season fast approaching, Northern Arizona has found itself in the Top 20 of three preseason polls. The Lumberjacks are ranked 16th in the Athlon and Lindy's College Football Preseason Polls, while NAU was selected 17th in the Sporting News Preseason Poll.

Head coach Jerome Souers enters his 16th season at the helm of a Lumberjacks program that finished 8-3 last season. Despite an unfavorable end to last season, the Lumberjacks have a lot to look forward to in 2013, as they will return nine starters on offense, and nine starters on defense. NAU will have one of the most experienced teams in the Big Sky.

The Lumberjacks return 14 Big Sky All-Conference performers, and have signed 19 players in the offseason. The mix of returners and newcomers will provide for a very competitive season for Northern Arizona.
