Select-A-Seat Event Garners Ticket Purchase from Cardinals’ Player Patrick Peterson

Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lisa Campos with Patrick Peterson of the Arizona Cardinals

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona Athletic department hosted a Select-A-Seat event for the upcoming football season Tuesday night and got a commitment for season tickets from Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson.

"We practice here for training camp and I thought it would be good for me to show a little appreciation to give back to you guys for the Boys and Girls Club or whoever you dish the tickets out to," said Peterson of his ticket purchase. "I wanted to show my support as well."

Peterson inquired about the event during setup Tuesday while in the Walkup Skydome preparing for his upcoming workout and practice. NAU held the event Tuesday night with student-athletes signing autographs before the team's evening practice.

NAU will distribute the tickets to a local charity in the Flagstaff area. Peterson bought two Family Pack packages that each provide tickets for two adults and two children to each of the five home games.

NAU Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lisa Campos met with Peterson after practice and thanked him for the ticket purchase.

Peterson, who is entering his second year with the Cardinals, was a unanimous All-American selection at LSU, becoming the first player in school history to win the Bednarik Award as the nation's top defender and also became the first player in LSU history to win the Thorpe Award as the nation's top DB.

The Cardinals returned to Flagstaff Sunday for the second stint of their training camp in preparation for the 2012 season.

"It has been great, the weather has been phenomenal with some rain here and there," said Peterson. "It is has been in the high 70s or low 80s. I believe that is perfect football weather especially to get a break from 120."
