Football Holds Blue-White Spring Game Saturday

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.  – The Northern Arizona football team holds their Blue-White Spring game Saturday at the Upper Practice Fields. All of the day's activities begin at 10 a.m. with a FREE Fan Fest on the Outdoor Lower Practice Fields, followed by an 11 a.m. kickoff to the Blue-White scrimmage.

"Across the board there is not one position that has not got better over the course of the spring," said Head Coach Jerome Souers.

Souers will test his team with a scored scrimmage Saturday between the offensive and defensive units. The offense can score points with a touchdown (6 points), field goal (3), run of 15 or more yards (2), pass of 20 or more yards (2), a first down (1) and a conversion (1 or 2 points). The defense can score seven points with a turnover, three points with a three-and-out or missed field goal or two points with a stopped drive, sack or tackle for loss.

"It should be very competitive and should be a great chance to get to game speed," said Souers.

FAN FEST INFORMATION

Parking lots will open at 9 a.m. at the NAU Skydome for all fans to park and tailgate prior to the scrimmage. At 10am we encourage all fans to participate in our Fan Fest area located on the Outdoor Lower Practice Fields across from the NAU Skydome. Fans will be able to bounce around in the NAU Bounce House, run through the team tunnel just like the NAU team does, as well as try on official team gear and get your face painted by members of the NAU Cheer and Dance team. There will also be opportunities to have your pictures taken with the official mascot Louie the Lumberjack.

Also starting at 10 a.m. we encourage all fans to visit the NAU Bookstore tent for all the latest NAU Gear and the Sodexo concessions area. From the beginning of Fan Fest through halftime of the scrimmage Sodexo will be offering a "$5 Meal Deal" for all fans. For only $5 you get a hot dog, chips, and a drink!

A reminder that kick-off for the 2012 NAU Blue-White Spring Game will be at 11 a.m. on the Outdoor Upper Practice Fields. At the conclusion of the spring game NAU football players will sign autographs on the Outdoor Lower Practice Fields for all fans.
