MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Senior wide receiver Khalil Paden will play in the FCS Senior Scout Bowl this Saturday in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The game will be broadcast online starting at 10:45 Arizona time with kickoff at 11 a.m.
"I am really excited to get the chance to showcase my talents and represent NAU on a national level," said Paden. "I feeling pretty good and I am fresh and ready to go."
Paden has been working out with quarterback Cary Grossart and lifting weights four times a week to stay in shape for the game.
The FCS Senior Bowl is presented by the Collegiate Development Football League and 2011 is the second annual game.
"It is a great opportunity to get myself out there a little more and get a chance to play in front of some scouts and practice in front of them."
The players practiced twice on Thursday and will practice two times Friday before taking part in a player banquet on Friday evening at the Sheraton Convention Center Banquet Hall. All practices are at the Doug Shaw Stadium, and are open to the media and public. The game will also take place at the Doug Shaw Stadium.
Paden led five Lumberjacks on the All-Big Sky honorable mention offense. He led the team with 61 receptions, 991 receiving yards and eight touchdowns and ranked fifth in the Big Sky in receptions and receiving yards per game. The Chatsworth, Calif., native recorded five 100-yard receiving games.
Paden is one of three Big Sky players in the game, including A.J. Storms of Idaho State and Patrick Walker of Northern Colorado.
