Battisti Signs with Arena Football League’s Spokane Shock
SPOKANE, Wash. – Former defensive lineman Michael Battisti was signed by the Spokane Shock of the Arena Football League Thursday and will be eligible to play this weekend against the Utah Blaze.
A defensive lineman from Hesperia, Calif., Battisti, a 2010 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® nominee, saw action in 22 games in his career. He was named an All-Big Sky honorable mention selection in 2008 after recording 23 tackles on the season with 7.5 tackles for loss and 6.0 quarterback sacks. After missing the 2009 season with an injury, Battisti returned to have a productive year in 2010, playing in 10 games with 25 tackles with four tackles for loss and earning All-Big Sky honors.
Battisti will be eligible to play Saturday when Spokane hosts the Utah Blaze in the Joe Albi Stadium Summer Classic, the first regular-season outdoor Arena Football game in league history.
