Former Lumberjack Berry Signed by CFLs Hamilton Tiger-Cats
HAMILTON, Ontario – Former NAU wide receiver Ed Berry has signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League.
Berry, a 5-9, 185-pound native of San Mateo, California, made 120 receptions for 1,716 yards and seven touchdowns in two seasons at Northern Arizona. He was an All-Big Sky selection in 2009 after leading the team with 75 catches for 1,075 yards and seven touchdowns. The 75 receptions are third-best total in school history, while 1,075 yards is the fifth-best single-season total. He ranked second in the conference and tied for 16th in the nation in catches per game (6.8) in 2009 and second in the Big Sky and tied for sixth in the nation in receiving yards per game (97.7).
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are a member of the Canadian Football League (CFL) with a rich 141-year history, which includes 15 Grey Cup Championships. They open the season on June 13 at Toronto. Former Lumberjack Robbie Dehaze is the kicker for Toronto.
