Former Football Standout Henderson Signs CFL Deal
WINNIPEG, MB Canada - Former Northern Arizona football standout Alex Henderson signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League this month to continue his football career. Henderson completed last year’s season with the Locomotives of the United Football League after a free agent stint with the St. Louis rams. Henderson is among five former Lumberjacks currently playing professional football within the United States and Canada.

Football Program Adds Beal to Coaching Staff
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Jimmy Beal has joined the Northern Arizona University football staff as the running backs coach, Head Coach Jerome Souers announced Thursday. Beal replaced Chris Taylor, who left the staff over the summer.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.- Junior kicker Matt Myers is among 40 players on the Watch List for the Fred Mitchell Award that includes the Championship Subdivision (FCS), Division II, III and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) collegiate place-kickers that were nominated by their colleges for excellence on the football field and in the community.

Lumberjack Coaches Score Well in APR Portfolios Released by NCAA
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The NCAA announced the Head Coach APR Portfolio on Thursday for five sports sponsored at Northern Arizona University including football, men’s and women’s basketball, and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field. The NAU head coaches recorded APR figures above the national average in four of the five sports released by the NCAA.
