Football Hosts Fourth-Ranked Montana Saturday
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The
Northern Arizona football team will play host to fourth-ranked
Montana Saturday at the Walkup Skydome with kickoff scheduled for
3:07 p.m. The game will be televised by KPAX out of Missoula,
Mont., and can be heard on the Sodexo Lumberjack Radio Network in
Flagstaff (930 KAFF AM) and Phoenix/Globe (94.1 KRDE FM) and online
on Big Sky
TV. Tickets are available at the NAU Central Ticket office at
he box office or online.
Montana leads the all-time series 30-11. Montana has won 11 in a
row and 20 of the last 21 games against NAU. The Lumberjacks’
last victory in the series came with a 27-24 win in 1997. Since the
Skydome opened in 1977, NAU has won just 7 of 32 games against
Montana in the series. Overall, NAU is 7-12 in Flagstaff and 4-18
in Missoula against the Grizzlies.
Senior RB Alex
Henderson, who was named the Big Sky Co-Offensive Player of the
Week this week, rushed for 168 yards (11th best in FCS) with three
touchdowns against Southern Utah to record the eighth career
100-yard game of his career. It was his best individual performance
since rushing for 265 against Eastern Washington as a freshman.
Henderson recorded 232 total yards of offense in the game. He ranks
11th in the nation in rushing yards at 112.0 yards per game. The 32
carries were a career single-game high and third most in the FCS
this season.
QB Michael
Herrick had his first career 300-yard passing games with 306
passing yards against Southern Utah. It was the 68th 300-yard
passing game in school history. It is the 25th-best performance in
the FCS this season.
