Andy Williams Joins NAU Staff as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Andy Williams has joined the Northern Arizona athletics staff as the head strength and conditioning coach, as announced by Athletics Director Jim Fallis. Williams comes to NAU with 13 years of experience in the profession, most recently spending a year as the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Eastern Michigan University.

Williams has experience at many levels in the sporting world, having spent time as the director of strength and conditioning in the New York Yankees minor league system and the Frankfurt Galaxy league of NFL Europe, as well as other collegiate stints at Cal State Fullerton, Tennessee State, Middle Tennessee State and the University of Connecticut.

Williams spent three years at Cal State Fullerton, serving as the head strength and conditioning coach from 2004-07.

While earning his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Missouri Western State College, Williams played outside linebacker for the football team for three seasons. He is in the process of earning his master’s in education which he began at Middle Tennessee State while also employed as the head strength and conditioning coach at Tennessee State.

Williams is a native of Sedalia, Mo., and is USA Weightlifting certified Level One Club Coach.
