Football Team Volunteers Time at Big Brothers Big Sisters Event
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Members of
the Northern Arizona University football team came out to enjoy
some fun in the sun with some special kids this past Sunday, April,
26.
The student-athletes came out to Big Brothers Big Sisters of
Flagstaff’s annual Spring Picnic, held at Kinsey Elementary
field, which is an event that allows mentors,”Bigs”, to
bring their “Littles” for a day of outdoor fun and a
barbeque. During the event, the kids had an opportunity to play
games like four-square and flag football with the NAU players.
“Being able to play games and meet the football players a big
highlight of the kids’ afternoon,” said Lauren
Copeland-Glenn, Operations Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of
Flagstaff. “We always enjoy having the team come out and we
know they enjoy it too.”
The NAU football team makes an effort to be a positive part of the
community, participating in many volunteering opportunities
throughout the semester.
