Josh Johnson Added to NAU Athletic Training Staff
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Josh Johnson, a native of Utah who spent the last two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Utah State, has been hired as a new Assistant Athletic Trainer at Northern Arizona University. Johnson joins Cherisse Kutyreff and Sarah Shute as assistant athletic trainers working with head athletic trainer Ryan Pinson and will work primarily with the NAU women's soccer team.
"I'm excited to come down here and work with these great athletic trainers at NAU," Johnson said. "Just based on my interview and the hiring process, I knew that this was a place where I wanted to work and wanted to be. I felt like I really fit the model that they have created here and I that I can help bring something to not only athletic training and sports medicine here at the university but the athletic training profession as a whole."
As a graduate assistant trainer at Utah State, Johnson served one year as the head athletic trainer for women's gymnastics before assuming the role of assistant athletic trainer for Utah State football for 2011-12.
