FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Northern Arizona University Athletics is proud to announce that its department has achieved 100 percent staff giving for the 2013-14 school year for the first time in school history.
During the 2012-13 school year, NAU Athletics had 25 percent of its staff give back. Now one year later and two years under Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Lisa Campos’ leadership, the 75 percent upgrade is a result of the big things happening in NAU Athletics.
“I would like to congratulate our entire department for achieving 100 percent scholarship giving,” said Dr. Campos. “This speaks to their commitment to each other and most importantly their investment to our 350-plus student-athletes. I am proud of our coaches and staff who continue to support the mission of NAU Athletics and the student-athlete experience.”
In 2013-14, NAU student-athletes garnered 183 all-conference selections, tallied an cumulative grade point average of 3.14 and recorded 4,378 community service hours.
Director of Development Ryan Weigand said, “This is a huge statement and powerful message the athletics family is sending to the Flagstaff community. We value the Lumberjack Athletic Association mission and our student-athlete experience. We are proud of our student-athletes and it is important for them to know that we back them 100 percent.”
