Track & Field's Diego Estrada (May 4, 2012)

Diego Estrada ran the race of his life Sunday at the Payton Jordan Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., surpassing the Olympic 'A' Standard in the men's 10,000 meters with a time of 27:32.90. Estrada, running unattached due to redshirt status this outdoor season, qualified for a spot on the Mexican national team in the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in August as a result of his race. The Salinas, Calif. native and recently-crowned NAU Male Athlete of the Year earned three NCAA All-America honors from his cross country and indoor track and field campaigns this season, finishing seventh at the NCAA Cross Country Championships last fall and taking fifth in the 5,000 meters and seventh in the 3,000 meters at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in March.
