Men and Women must have achieved at least one of the following standards for walk on consideration.

Tryouts are to be four days in length. Two days with the rest of the team:

Day 1
Jumpers/Sprinters: Test in Standing Long Jump, (R,R,L,L, into the pit) (3 trials)
Jumpers/Sprinters/Throwers: 30 meter sprint from a 3 point stance (2 trials) (Speed Potential)
Jumpers/Sprinters: 30 meter sprint from a fly (2 trials) (Speed Potential)
Javelin/Discus: Knoken ball throw, discus throw (3 trials)
Throwers: Standing three hop (3 trials)
Pole Vault: Max out Pull-ups (upper body strength)
Distance: Timed Mile/800 (Endurance Potential) Needed Times in Flagstaff: Men-4:35 or below/2:00 or below Women-5:35 or below/2:23 or below

Day 2
Sprinters/Jumpers: 45 second run (as far as you can run in 45 sec.) (Speed Potential)
Jumpers/Throwers: Vertical Jump (Vertical Jumping ability)
Distance: 15 minute run (as far as you can run in 15 min) (Endurance Potential) Distance Needed: Men-2.7 miles (5:30 mile pace) Women-2.3 miles (6:30 pace)
Pole Vaulters: Pull-Over (arm/core strength, potential for pole vault)

Day 3
Regular Practice with the team. (Coaches looking for team chemistry, competitiveness, and determination while around the rest of the team)

Day 4
Another day of Regular Practice (If coach insists).

After four days of trials each individual coach will select athletes based on the following:
1. Ones selected and combined with team will make the most competitive team.
2. Athletes who have achieved the Big Sky Standards.
3. Athletes who have a significant chance to achieve the Big Sky Standards.

Athlete cuts will be made based on each individual coach’s standards within two days of completion of tryouts; a list of walk-ons accepted shall be posted the following day.
