1998 NAU Athletics Hall of Fame Class
Willie Nash, one of the great NAU players of the 1960's, is still recognized for his on-court exploits. A two-time Joseph Rolle Award winner (1965, 1966) as a team most valuable player, Nash finished his career second on the all-time scoring list (1351 points) and in the career top-10 in five other categories. His senior-season scoring average of 19.2 points per game was fourth-best all-time, and his 35-point performance against Gonzaga that season was on of the top-10 single-game efforts by a Lumberjack. A graduate of McNary High School, he earned NAIA All-District-7 honors as a senior to cap a career in which he led the Lumberjacks to a respectable 58-42 record.
