Hosie Maddox (Football, 1956-59)
Maddox was a four-year letterwinner for then-Arizona State College under the guidance of Coach Max Splisbury, compiling a combined 33-6 record over his career highlighted by an appearance in the 1958 Holiday Bowl for the NAIA national championship. He helped the team to three consecutive Frontier Conference Championships from 1956-68, earning first-team All-Frontier Conference honors in both 1957 and 1958. He was a member of the first Arizona football team to appear on national television when the Lumberjacks played in the 1958 NAIA Holiday Bowl. Arizona State College lost the Holiday Bowl game to Northeastern Oklahoma by the score of 20-13. Maddox passed away in 1992.
