Tom Jurich was a Kodak All-American (Co-Captain). First team placekicker in 1977, and was selected a Sporting News All-American. He was named the Offensive Big Sky Player of the Year, the only kicker ever to receive this honor. Jurich ranked first at NAU in points (160) by kicking; the most PAT conversions (10) in a single game; and the most 50-yard field goals: 3/season and 3/career. He was a member of the NCAA Division II playoff team in 1977, which was ranked 5th nationally. Two-time (1976 and 1977) First Team Big Sky Conference kicker. He was drafted by the Pittsburg Steelers and ended his career with the Minnesota Vikings. In 1986, Jurich returned to NAU and became the youngest athletics director in the NCAA.
