Troy Hudson

(Basketball, 1977-79/Graduate Assistant 1979-80/Assistant Coach 1983-85)

Hudson transferred from Eastern Arizona Junior College to NAU for his junior and senior years achieving Academic All-America at NAU in 1979.  He earned honorable mention All Big Sky conference honors in 1978 and second team All-Big Sky Conference honors in 1979.  He was also selected as Academic All Big Sky and Big Sky Player of the week in 1979, and is one of the only three NAU Student-athletes ever to receive an NCAA postgraduate scholarship.  At the time of his induction, Hudson holds graduate scholarship.  At the time of his induction, Hudson holds NAU career records with 36.6 average minutes per game and a career free throw percentage of 87.4%.  He established season marks in the 1977-78 season making 92 of 104 free throws for 88.5% and playing 1,105 minutes-becoming the first NAU player to ever play more than 1,000 minutes in a season. He ranks seventh in NAU history with and average of 15.8 points per game and a field goal percentage of 51.7%.  Hudson was also ranked second on the Big Sky career free throw shooting list.  He received the Joseph Rolle Award both years he attended NAU.
