Pete Howell (Baseball, 1977-78)
Named first team Academic All-American pitcher in 1978. Received the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, the only major college baseball player to earn the award that year. Also named NAU Blue-Coat Scholar Athlete of the Year. Golden Eagle Award honoree. Posted a two-year pitching record of 15-5. Fifteen wins set a school record for wins in a career. Set single-season win record in 1977, posting an 8-4 record with an 1.87 ERA. Finished career with a 7-1 record in 1978. Graduated magna cum laude with a 3.86 GPA in anthropology.
