April Diez-Walker (Swimming and Diving, 1992-96)
Diez-Walker was a two-time NCAA Championship qualifier and holds four individual school records, including the 200 free, 500 free, 1,000 free and 1,650 free and was part of the record-setting 800 free relay team. A 1994 All-American in the 1,650 free, she finished sixth overall at the championship meet. The former April Diez was named Female Swimmer of the Year following the 1995 Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Championships after winning 1,650 free at the PCSC championships, as well as the 200 free, 500 free and 400 IM (setting an NAU record in the process). A native of Phoenix, who attended Xavier High School, she also placed ninth at the 500-yard freestyle at the 1994 NCAA Championships. She currently lives in Austin, Texas.
