Sam Borozan (Administrator/Booster, 1953-Pres.)
Borozan is a NAU graduate and former University administrator and long-time booster and supporter. The often-decorated Borozan established Mom and Dad's Day in 1954, earning the NAU Alumni Service Award in 1976 and ASNAU Outstanding Faculty/Staff Award in 1982. He also served as the Homecoming Parade Marshall in 1986 and was the Homecoming Dedicatee in 1991. The Bisbee native and current resident of Tucson earned an education degree from Arizona State College in 1957 and a master's degree in administration in 1966. He established the Borozan Memorial Scholarship in 1960, the Coach Max Spilsbury Scholarship in 1986 and the S.S. Borozan Scholarship in 1999 and has donated scoreboards at Lumberjack Stadium (2001), Rolle Activity Center (2002) and Wall Aquatic Center (2003). He served as chairman of the NAU Athletics Hall of Fame from 1984-91 and has been officiating youth, high school and collegiate sports for 51 years. He was inducted to the Arizona Softball Hall of Fame, as an umpire in 2003 and was the Arizona Coaches High School All-Star Softball Game Dedicatee in 2003.
