Jack Blair (Football, 1936-37)
Has been associated with Northern Arizona University since he was a member of the 1933 freshman football team, the Axebabes. Starred on the 1936 and 1937 Lumberjack teams, and was elected co-captain of the 1937 team. Quarterbacked Flagstaff to victories over their traditional rivals, the Tempe Bulldogs, in 1936 (13-7) and 1937 (7-0). Helped raise funds for the student memorial building (North Union) honoring those students who gave their lives during World Was II. He devoted time and money in support of the Townjacks, and later was a charter member of the Skyjacks booster organization. He was noted throughout Arizona as a loyal supporter of Arizona State Teaching College, Arizona State college and presently NAU.
