1988 Men's Cross Country Team
Coached by Ron Mann and Warren Mandrell, the 1988 Men's Cross Country Team earned the highest NAU finish in any NCAA championship event when they finished second. The team had a perfect score of 15 at the Big Sky conference Championships with team members finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. They also achieved the third all-time district best score of 21 in the NCAA District 7 meet. Bo Reed, in his senior year, finished first at the Big Sky Conference Championship, first at the NCAA District 7 meet, and third at the NCAA Championships-becoming the forth top five finisher at the NCAA Championships in NAU history. Milfred Tewawina backed up his teammate with a second place finish at the Big Sky Conference Championships, a second place finish at the NCAA District 7 meet, and an eighth place finish at the NCAA Championships. The 1988 Men's Cross Country Team also included Daren Stonerock, Cameron Mitchell, Chris Bray, Scott Pestka, Vince Firlotte and Eric Grubbs.
