Jim MacIntyre joined the athletic department in November 2009 as an accounting specialist responsible for P-Cards and travel reporting and documentation.
MacIntyre attended the University
of Oklahoma, but was drafted in his second semester and entered the
Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. Most of his time was spent with the
Marine Corps, in Camp Pendleton and Vietnam. In Vietnam, he
worked at the Navel Hospital in Danang.
After leaving the Navy, MacIntyre obtained a degree in finance and
accounting at Cal-State Fullerton. After graduation, he was
recruited by Ernst and Ernst where he obtained his CPA
certification. After leaving Ernst and Ernst, he ran his own
practice then joined two different firms, one in California and one
in Arizona as a partner.
MacIntyre and his family have a long history with NAU. His son, Tim, graduated from NAU Summa Cum Laude with degrees in chemistry and geology. His wife, Becky, works at Residence Life and received a bachelor of fine arts from NAU. Scott, his youngest son, was a trader and graduated from Arizona. He currently works for the University of Phoenix.
MacIntyre received his MBA from NAU
and also taught accounting at the College of Business.
MacIntyre’s hobbies are soccer, which he has coached for 17
years and refereed for 10 years, reading and golf. He has worked in
the community with the Boy Scouts, Flagstaff Soccer Club, AYSO and
the Rotary.
