James Foran begins his fifth season with the Northern Arizona University department as athletics video coordinator after joining the staff in September of 2011.
Following the 2014 season, Foran was named the FCS Video Coordinator of the Year by the Collegiate Sports Video Association.
Foran works with a staff of student assistants to handle the day-to-day video operation for the football program while overseeing the filming of home games for NAU's soccer, volleyball, and men's and women's basketball teams. He operates the DragonFly & DVSport exchange software for trading of film with opponents and for sending home football games to the Big Sky Conference.
Prior to joining the NAU staff, he served as the video coordinator at Furman University from 2007-09. He started his video career at SUNY-Cortland in 2001 as a student assistant/video coordinator. He also worked with the track and field program from 2004-05. While at Cortland, Foran twice served as a training camp video intern with the Buffalo Bills and was a graduate assistant at Marshall in the video department for the 2006 season.
He is proficient in XOS Thunder HD, NTM Sports, Sportstec GameBreaker, DragonFly, DVSport exchange & Hudl film exchange, Sony Vegas, Final Cut Pro and full camera operations.
Foran, a native of Hempstead, N.Y., is a 2005 graduate of the State University of New York at Cortland with a degree in sports management and attended graduate school at Marshall.
