Drew Powers begins his second season as a graduate assistant with the Northern Arizona University athletic training staff. He will work with the men’s basketball team in the fall and the women’s soccer team in the spring.

Powers served as the assistant athletic trainer at his alma mater Mesa State last spring, working as the certified athletic trainer for men’s and women’s soccer and tennis and spring football. He also assisted with the coverage for the men’s and women’s basketball teams and served as a clinical instructor for Mesa State’s ATEP.

Powers also served an athletic training internship with Disney’s Wide World of Sports for five months in 2007, proving medical coverage for a variety of sports and age groups.
He started his athletic training career at Mesa State College as a student assistant from 2005-07.

He is pursuing a master’s in education at NAU.

Powers has been certified since November 2007 and member of the National Athletic Trainers Association since 2005.
