Diana Ulrey enters her fifth season
as an academic coordinator after joining the Northern Arizona
athletics staff in September 2008. Ulrey works with the
Lumberjacks’ football, women’s basketball, tennis and
women's volleyball teams. She also oversees the Student Athlete
Advisory Committee (SAAC) and directs the CHAMPS/Lifeskills
program.
Ulrey was already familiar with the NAU campus after working for a
year with the Distance Learning department as an accounting
specialist. She was responsible for organizing and processing
statewide administrative travel reimbursements while ensuring
compliance with NAU and travel policies for the state of Arizona.
Ulrey also coordinated facility use agreements, master contract and
insurance among her many duties with the department.
A resident of Flagstaff for the past seven years, Ulrey spent her
first year in northern Arizona as an Interpretive SCA Park Ranger
at Wupatki National Monument.
Ulrey attended Clemson University and worked as an NCAA rules and
compliance intern in the athletic department. She was also an
office assistant in the Clemson University Student-Athlete
Enrichment Center. Her other past work experience includes a
summer spent as a historical research assistant at the Klondike
Gold Rush National Historic Park in Skagway, Alaska.
Ulrey was a four-year scholarship member on the women’s
rowing team at Clemson where she earned a bachelor’s degree
in history in December 2005. While at Clemson, Ulrey was a
four-time All-ACC Academic selection. She was named a
National Scholar Athlete in 2003 and earned the Athletic
Director’s Award for Academic Excellence in 2005.
She completed a Master's of Education in
Intercollegiate Athletics Leadership from the
University of Washington in June 2012.
